Pregnancy Nutrition

Pre and Postpartum Nutrition

Pregnancy and the postpartum period are a time where nutrition can be challenging and confusing to navigate. We specialize in helping moms during pregnancy and postpartum manage their nutrition and exercise programs in order to promote a health pregnancy for both, mom and baby.

During pregnancy, women are at risk for nutrient deficiencies and imbalances, hormonal changes that impact nutrition and intake, physical and mental health conditions, a compromised immune system, and a changing body image during pregnancy.

At such a vulnerable time for yours and your baby’s health, navigating your pregnancy nutrition can become more manageable with nutritionist on your side.

Managing your pregnancy and postpartum nutrition poses many challenges. These may include:

  • First Trimester Nausea and Vomiting

  • Food Aversions

  • Hyperemesis Gravidarum

  • Heartburn/Acid Reflux

  • Gestational Diabetes

  • Iron Deficiency

  • Anemia

  • Excessive Weight Gain

  • Postpartum Depletion Syndrome

Pregnancy Nutrition Programs

In our prenatal nutrition programs, we focus on nourishing moms and their growing babies during all three trimesters and their different challenges. During pregnancy, the nutrition focus is to keep your nutrient intake appropriate for your trimester, prenatal exercise routine, and energy demands. Your growing baby takes a lot of nutrients from you, so it is important to replace them (for the both of you!).

How we help:

  • Building a pregnancy nutrition plan, by trimester, to reach needs.

  • Creating a fueling plan for workouts to stay energized and recovered.

  • Providing weekly coaching and support to manage nutrition.

  • Addressing body image concerns as your body changes and evolves.

  • Ensuring key pregnancy micronutrient needs are reached.

  • Having a plan to fuel for labor and recovery from vaginal OR c-section delivery.

  • Developing a nutrition plan for post-birth to ensure nutrition can be a priority.

  • Treating a variety of nutrition related conditions during pregnancy including:

    • Gestational Diabetes

    • High Blood Pressure

    • Anemia

    • Vitamin D Deficiency

    • Weight Concerns
